Proletariat Releases First iOS Game Title

Proletariat Inc., the new game development studio formed by senior staff from the shuttered Zynga Boston, have just officially announced their new and exciting iOS game title, Letter Rush. It seems to be a bit of a craze at the moment for this style of game, maybe because they are quick, easy to play and ultra addictive. So if you fancy testing your skills and keeping your brain on the go, this is the game for you. Letter Rush, the first game released by Proletariat Inc., is available now for free on the iPhone and iPad. Throw out your bags of letters and those sloth-paced word games!  Letter Rush puts an arcade-spin on the classic word-find genre. Match oncoming words quickly to score big points, finish goals, and compete with your friends.

In single-player mode, it’s your job to swipe the incoming word waves away before they bear down on you and destroy your precious walls. Reach new levels, unlock increased multipliers, and use amazing power-ups by completing goals and collecting gems. Team up with a friend to rule the leaderboards in 20-fingered glory or settle disputes the wordy way in synchronous multiplayer action.

Proletariat Inc., the development team behind  Letter Rush, officially revealed their new studio and pending game release last week. After Zynga unexpectedly closed their office in October 2012, five senior members of the Zynga Boston team, creators of 2011’s acclaimed  Indiana Jones Adventure World, founded Proletariat Inc.

“We decided to build  Letter Rush because we needed to get back into the groove of building games as a small team,” said Dan Ogles, CTO at Proletariat. “The game started as a one-day prototype to scratch a creative itch, not as a targeted concept plucked from a market research report or by looking at our competitors’ current offerings. We took the prototype and just continued to iterate on it until we were happy.”

The game took a little over two months to build according to Seth Sivak, CEO at Proletariat, who said “It was great practice for us. We knew we would need to rebuild our momentum and get back to building games with a small, focused team.” Proletariat is already hard at work on their next game, going after a larger challenge in the core tablet market.
