Crimes & Punishments: A Change of Engine Showed In Video

With the Testament of Sherlock Holmes, the series of video games dedicated to the famous detective marked a notable step in its history by dropping the traditional PC adventure games’ gameplay in favor of a real investigation experience on consoles and PC.  With Crimes & Punishments, the series will mark a new milestone, as the development studio Frogwares will give up its home-made engine in order to switch to the well-known Unreal Engine 3 from Epic. This choice will first allow the game to benefit from bigger environments that are more gorgeous and more varied, all while offering an incredible level of detail: dynamic lighting, shaders, post-processing effects, animations… the game is an all-around winner, as illustrated in the very first presentation video of the new engine of Sherlock Holmes’ latest game, sit back and enjoy the video.

This new engine not only benefits the game’s graphics: it also allows the development of new investigation mechanics that the previous engine’s limitations did not permit. These new mechanics give the player the feeling that they ARE Sherlock Holmes, and enable them to fully use the incredible talents and gifts known to all fans, such as his skill to guess many details about someone’s life simply by glancing at them – or to imagine and reconstruct the course of event by carefully observing all the key details of a crime scene.

Crimes & Punishments will begin showcasing these unique features in the coming weeks through videos and presentations of the game. Crimes & Punishments will also be presented in more detail at E3 2013.

Exclusive Triple Grand Theft Auto V Trailer Special

As promised Rockstar Games have just released three new exclusive trailers for Grand Theft Auto V, in these videos Rockstar Games are focusing on the three main playable characters, Michael, Franklin and Trevor, and oh my what characters they are too. As you will know Grand Theft Auto is and always has been an aged 18 game, so the video is, lets say a little bit rude for our younger viewers so parental advisory is needed whilst the video is playing. For those old enough to enjoy the age rating, sit back and enjoy this amazing trilogy of mayhem. And for the record my favourite character out of the three is Trevor, who will be your favourite character I wonder? Scheduled for release on September 17th Grand Theft Auto V promises to be everything that we want in a game and much much more.

It’s been in development for years but we still know little more about Grand Theft Auto V now than we did when it was first announced back in 2011. And to be honest we still aren’t much the wiser after watching these new trailers, impressive as they are.

There’s one each for protagonists Michael, Franklin, and Trevor, providing the most detailed look at their back stories so far. Although there’s still no demonstration of how you’ll switch characters between them, which is apparently achieved by a Google Earth style zoom out effect.

Officially Grand Theft Auto V is to be released on September 17th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Rockstar has said they’re considering PC and Wii U versions but have made no comment at all on the likelihood of PlayStation 4 or next gen Xbox versions.

The hotly tipped number 1 Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game is set to land in stores from November 5th and promises to be the most popular game of 2013.  Call of Duty: Ghosts will allegedly take place in the future, but utilise current technology and weapons in line with a “major plot event”. The single-player campaign is said to include more destructible environments, with multiplayer maps featuring interactive areas and traps.

Asda has stocked up ahead of the pre-order launch to meet public demand and ensure customers avoid disappointment.

Ride to Hell: Route 666 Cruel & Unusual Trailer

Deep Silver today is putting the pedal to the metal with more details on the upcoming action game Ride to Hell: Route 666. In the world’s first real time tactics beat’em up, players will beef up their pack of road warriors, provide them with the right gear, and take them to the streets in a merciless battle for every mile of the legendary Route 66. The trip starts this summer, when the game is scheduled to hit the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live and Steam. So check back for further news and updates.

Tactics are essential when up against a colorful cast of enemies. Players will be able to bark orders at their fearless gang members to bring them into the right formation on-the-fly with easy, accessible controls. Clever tactics will be rewarded, opening up enemy defenses and allowing you to get in on the action: as the leader of this lawless bunch, you can support your warriors at the front line or issue instructions from the back. Pick up and play action controls allow the players to get involved in the fight at any time. You’ll also be recruiting new members to join your gang, with each one bringing their own special abilities to a fight, from big bad bruisers to sultry medics.

Ride to Hell: Route 666 is set within the Ride to Hell universe, a world of bare-knuckle violence, and rip-roaring motorcycles. Later this year the setting will be extended by two further titles featuring the unique and incomparable biker lifestyle; Ride to Hell: Retribution and Ride to Hell: Beatdown.

Ride to Hell: Retribution tells the story of a lone rider, Jake Conway, a man with either a gun in his hand or a girl on his lap (and on more than one occasion both!). He’s on a merciless path of revenge against a brutal biker gang called The Devil’s Hand, armed to the teeth with an arsenal of deadly weapons to enact his vengeance on foot and on bike. The only law Jake answers to is his own.  Hit hard, ride fast and leave ’em in the dust June 2013 for Xbox 360, Windows PC, and PlayStation 3.

The Ride to Hell universe will be rounded out with Ride to Hell: Beatdown, a rock’n’roll brawler set to light up the mobile space, on the go! More details on this title will follow soon.
